What do you value?

Value is a quality we attribute to things, experiences and even people. Value is the qualities of anything that make it desirable or useful. People place the attribution of value onto many different things. What one person sees value in another may not. What do you value? This is a deeply personal question and I'm not sure there is a definite right or wrong - just different.

I am a survivor of being trafficked so financial value is not something that enters my mind. I do not equate the blood, sweat and tears of hard work to monetary gain purely because I worked my fingers to the bone for years and never saw one penny for my labour. I do value hard work though, it is it's own reward. The labour of creation and setting and completing goals is something I value highly. The feeling of achievement when that goal is completed is to me one of the greatest feelings ever, so I value the act that creates the accomplishment.

I think there are things most all of us value, like our family, peace and safety. Who doesn't value a baby giggling or a small kitten's velvet nose? Sometimes the things one person values clashes with another who values the total opposite. I'm a tattooed lady and you might be amazed at the number of folk who feel the need to express there sorrow at what they perceive as my devaluation of myself by getting tattoos. Fair enough, people get to choose if they wish to be garden variety bigots. You should know I place no value in their opinions of me or my tattoos.

We can't demand others value what we value, nor can we dismiss them because they don't meet our own created set of values. You are not (nor is anyone else) the font of all wisdom and certainly aren't the standard to meet for taste or determine value by. I'm a simple lady with simple desires I value simple pleasures and peace. I value integrity and wisdom, I value my precious friends who help me through everyday, I value the beautiful faces of my children and their children. I value you Dear Wild Heart for gifting me your precious time to read my words.
Hopefully you can meet me here tomorrow
