Roll for Initiative

Do you tabletop game? Do you RPG? What about LARP?
I might be old, but I'm a playful spirit at heart and like most Australians I live for games of any kind. I especially love settling in for hours and hours of fantasy play with the most awesome folk who dwell in the tabletop gaming community. I've been playing since I was a little girl, thanks to having gaming parents and siblings.

If you have played before you might be familiar with the expression of "rolling for initiative" and you would know that nothing good usually comes next. The smirk appears in the corner of the Dungeon Master's mouth as they utter the dreaded words. In the non-gaming world the word describes the ability to use one's judgement to make decisions and take actions without being prompted to or directed by someone else. It means pretty much the same in the game but has actually become another way to say "Let the battle begin"

It might be because I'm neurospicy but I always take the lessons learned playing games and implement them into my everyday life. Do you see yourself as an adventurer in your real life dungeon? I have lived this way for many years now and it's given me such an insight into not only myself but other players I meet in the game of my life. When you reach a certain age you gather XP naturally but there are certain events and challenges people can face in their lives that will exponentially increase their experience and like a character in a game they become better, more skilled and refined by the fire of challenges.

So wild heart if you have faced challenges that have hurt you, if you have been thrown into life's fire remember metals need to be refined by for purification purposes. You are refined in a way those untouched by your struggles are, recalculate your XP and adventure well wild heart
Hope you can come by tomorrow
